Bonedry Woodfuel is a producer of premium grade dry woodchip, which we supply to customers across the South West.  Bonedry Woodfuel currently has three depot's in the South West and work with a number of partners across the region to keep our focus around a localised service. All of our timber is properly dry stored in large storage barns until fully matured and ready to be processed or delivered to you.

Bonedry Woodfuel can provide a long-term sustainable supply of woodfuel,  we also have established links with Woodsure, The Forestry Commission and many private estates, sawmills, joinery organisations and other growers across the south west.

Moisture Content is key for anyone looking to process the fuel through a biomass boiler, we aim to keep our woodchip moisture content bellow a 23% (minimum requirement for most boilers). Boiler companies will specify this measurement as it will change between makes, styles and sizes, typically between 25% - 60%. This moisture level will determine how well your boiler runs and at what efficiency, too low and the boiler burn too quickly and too high and the boiler will shut down. Correct moisture content in the most significant factor affecting the operation of a biomass boiler. Bonedry Woodfuel always tests its wood chip to ensure that we always deliver premium grade fuel at the correct moisture content.

Here at Bonedry Woodfuel we endeavour to source all of our wood fuel will minimal effects on the environment, this means locally sourcing timber and concentrating on using virgin wood such as branches, brash and stumps, small round wood (SRW), thinnings or poorly formed wood. This means less mature timber is left unharmed. Bonedry Woodfuel also source timber from primary users such as saw mills and joineries; this means the wood is recycled and the product life cycle is lengthened. It needs to be carefully screened and processed to remove any contaminants that are not normally found in wood in its natural state. Sources of clean recycled wood might include pallets, transport cases, boxes, wood packages, cable reels or construction wood.

The raw material to produce woodchip for fuel and hardwood firewood is plentiful in the UK. The Forestry Commission estimates there is an additional 2,000,000 tonnes of material per year available from un-managed woodlands.
